The new blog!

Well, as you can see I've started a new online journal. The old one took way to long to update and wasn't as user-friendly as I wanted it to be. So, I'll be using this system (which rocks). Let me highlight a couple of the features of this system called Moveable Type.

Makin' games!

Well, I had a great weekend. I wasn't expecting to have a project that would occupy the entire two days, but that's what I got. Jamie and I found this program for your computer that allows you to create RPG games like Final Fantasy. It's increadibly in-depth and has an amazing feature set. We spent the entire weekend working on our own games.

2004 Macworld Expo Keynote

Well, the 2004 Macworld Expo was yesterday and it was amazing. The keynote address was given by Apple CEO Steve Jobs. He took time to reflect on the history of Apple and the Mac and then announced some new and upcoming products. I was most excited by their new application, GarageBand, which is part of the iLife suite. You kinda have to be a fan of audio production-related software to really appreciate it. It basically does all of the same things as a $300 application for around $25. It's quite amazing.

Christmas time is here!

Well, Christmas time is here and the weather is showing it! Take a look at some photos I took last night while out and about (click on the thumbnail to view the larger version). I love the snow when it first comes, but I hate it when February rolls around and there's still tons of nasty brown snow.

Looking at houses

Well, believe it or not there's not a whle lot new going on... I'm trying to go to open houses every Sunday so I can get a sense of how much houses cost. Hopefully when we're ready to buy that will help us find a good place and make sure that we don't get "taken" in the process. I've only been to a couple of open houses so far because of scheduling conflicts, but I plan on going to a few this weekend.

Taking steps

Today's been a good day. Kristen and I met this morning with a mortgage broker and learned more about what our options are for buying a house. They approved us there on the spot for the amount we were wanting, but the monthly payment was just a little out of our reach. We also found out that our credit ratings are good... well, mine is "Good. Better than average." and Kristen's is "Very, very, very Good." in the mortgage broker's words. :)
