Stop 4 – Somerset, WI

Stop 4 was bittersweet. We saw more of the country for the first time, but most of the time I was alone as Crys and Lil were in Texas visiting family and doctors to help figure what’s going on with her back/legs.

I did manage to have a good time, though! The weather was incredible if a bit nippy at night. Most days were in the low 70s or lower! I spent a lot of time outside, my favorite place.

The RV park we were at Apple River Family Campground, was beautiful but they didn’t have full hookups so that was a small source of stress 😉 I explored the beautiful town of Stillwater, MN and walked to bridge, visited some shops. Found several great cigar shops too!

Crys’ issues with her back and legs continued to get worse and while she was in Texas and her doctor determined she has a herniated disk that’s pushing on a nerve. She has the option to have surgery, but that’s a last resort. We’ll be trying some alternatives before going that route, but we do need to relocate back to Texas for the remainder of the year. I’m not happy about it, I’m pretty disappointed, but we need to be close to the doctors and it’s truly what’s best. We only lose about 6 weeks on the road, so I can’t complain.

On the way back to Texas we stopped at a KOA in Wellington, KS. It had a nice pond but otherwise wasn’t much to look at. Now we’re parked in Corral City, TX. It’s also not much to look at and the yard is TINY. We’ll be here for the first month before moving to another park further south.

Keep us in your prayers as we work to get some relief for Crys’ pain. I’m resolved to make the most of this time, no matter where we’re parked!
