I’ve been a website developer for around 7 years, and while I love graphic design, one of my not-so-obvious loves is PHP programming. I’ve been writing PHP for around 2 years now and I’ve learned a lot of things. One of the biggest learning experiences was the process of developing the Photo Gallery for this website. It took me a couple of weeks to get it perfected and just how I wanted it. The process continues to this day.

The company I work for, Summersault Website Development is a big supporter of Open Source Software. Many of the developers contribute directly to several open source projects. Up until now my contributions have been mostly graphical in nature. I developed logos for severalp projects and helped one developer put a fresh face on his project website. Now, I step up into a different role. I’m releasing my first open source project.

It’s called PhpDwGallery and it’s a web-based photo gallery written in PHP and tailored specifically to web sites created in Dreamweaver. To learn more, visit my new PhpDwGallery page.
